Free community art sessions available in Melton Mowbray next month

Kick Up The Arts is inviting the community to get creative, explore the visual arts and discover future creative opportunities at its Choose Art event on Sunday September 6.

Taking place from 10am to 3pm at the group’s Bell Centre HQ, Choose Art will offer a relaxed, drop-in experience where visitors can choose from a range of hands-on creative activities and take part at their own pace.

Visitors can stay for 10 minutes, spend an hour exploring different activities or simply drop in to see what is happening.

No previous creative experience is needed, and all materials will be provided free of charge.

The event will feature five creative activity stations, including tote bag printing, badge making, painting and mixed media, drawing and mark making, and tactile sculpture using natural and recycled materials.

Choose Art is designed to welcome children, families, teenagers, young people and anyone interested in trying something creative.

Alongside the activities, visitors will have the opportunity to meet local artists, discover more about the visual arts and learn about the work Kick Up The Arts does within the community.

The event will also include information and resources for young people interested in exploring creative education and careers in the visual arts.

The event has been made possible through funding from the Ragdale Hall Community Chest, supporting Kick Up The Arts in making creative opportunities accessible to the wider community.
