Waltham School community comes together for colourful charity fundraiser
Waltham-on-the-Wolds CofE Primary School was filled with colour, laughter and plenty of energy as pupils, staff and families came together for a charity colour run, organised by the school’s dedicated parent volunteer group, Friends of Waltham School (FOWS).
The event provided a fun-filled day of running, walking with participants getting covered in colour, while raising an impressive £480 for the school and pre-school.
Senior teacher, Mrs Copeland, said: "It was fantastic to see our pupils, families and staff come together and enjoy such a fun and memorable event.
"The Colour Run was a brilliant way to bring our school community together while raising funds that will make a real difference to our children.
"We are incredibly grateful to FOWS for all the time and effort they put into organising the event, and to everyone who took part and supported it."
Her colleague, Mrs Pearson, added: "A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Colour Run possible.
"We are incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors and to all the families who donated and supported the event.
"Their kindness and generosity, alongside the hard work of FOWS, made it such a special day for our school community."
All proceeds will be invested back into the Waltham-on-the-Wolds school and on-site pre-school community, helping to provide new equipment, exciting opportunities and memorable experiences for children.
Rachel Smith, chair of FOWS, commented: "Seeing so many children, families and staff getting involved, having fun and supporting our school was wonderful.
"There was certainly a lot of colour, laughter and energy.
"We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated and helped make the event possible."
Local sponsors were Waterfield Leisure Centre, part of Everyone Active; Specsavers; The Royal Horseshoes; and Regent Services Garage.
Rachel added: "We are also incredibly grateful to our local sponsors for supporting FOWS and the school.
"Their generosity helped us to make the event happen, and their support means we can continue to invest in fantastic opportunities and experiences for the children."
