Schoolboy footballer thrilled by surprise visit of one of his Leicester City heroes

A talented young footballer was thrilled to be paid a surprise visit by one of his Leicester City heroes during a training session.

Thaime, who is 11 and plays for one of Melton Town FC’s junior teams, went to watch the Foxes play Plymouth Argyle at the King Power Stadium earlier this month and he was one of the last fans left in the ground after the 28,000 crowd had gone.

One of the goalscorers in City’s 2-0 victory, midfielder Will Alves, was being interviewed by the media at the side of the pitch.

When he had finished, Thaime called out to him for a chat but the Foxes star didn’t hear him and he walked off to the changing rooms.

But all was not lost because Will later saw an Instagram post the youngster’s family had posted about his experience of watching the game and a video of him shouting out to the player.

Thaime’s dad, Lewis, told the Melton Times: “My son was the last boy in the stadium watching Will Alves in the stadium having an interview and he tried to shout to him but it appeared Will did not hear him.

"However Will saw this on instagram and decided to surprise my son by visiting his Friday night football training session in Leicester and he gave him some inspirational football tips.

“It was an amazing gesture and an amazing moment my son took back to share with his team mates that Will took the time out his busy schedule to see him.”
