Melton Mowbray cinema team smash their fundraising target for cancer cause
The team who run Melton Mowbray’s cinema trebled their original fundraising target after completing a gruelling 13-mile charity challenge.
The Regal owners Jacob and Bryony were joined by colleagues Jess, Evie, Willah, Bea, Jagoda, Saira, Skye, Connie and Lauren in taking on the Mighty Hike on the Northumberland coast.

They finished the course in five hours and 12 minutes to raise more than £7,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support, which organises the hikes in various picturesque but challenging locations across the UK.
Bryony told the Melton Times: “We walked a half marathon length of 13 miles and we got rather soggy as it rained for the middle three hours.
"Out of the £2,500 we aimed to raise we actually managed to raise £7,564.
“Nearly everyone in the group had been affected by cancer in some way and a couple of us had close ones currently going through treatment, so it meant a lot to the group as a whole.
“We had a great time and we're really grateful to everyone who has helped us with our fundraising efforts and cheering us on.
"It was such a fun day, even if half of it was spent walking in the rain - which we think helped speed us up to complete it.”
This is the not the only fundraising effort the guys at The Regal have got involved in for Macmillan Cancer Support – earlier this year they ran quizzes, bake sales, toy sales and book sales to generate funds.
