The event held at Mr and Mrs Pettifer’s in Ashwell was an irresistible attraction for keen plant hunters in the borough and beyond.

The Rutland Group of The Hardy Plant Society’s, honorary secretary, Pat Woolston, said: “Despite the sun being very slow to show its’ face, hundreds of adults came through the gates. The venue has been attractively developed and all plant stall holders were adjacent to the garden this year, where excellent refreshments were served. Funds were raised for the group and Ashwell Church.”
