Motorist taken to hospital after Lowesby collision

Police officers were joined at the scene of the incident, in Melton Road, by firefighters and a crew from East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS).

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “We were called at 6.52am by EMAS to reports of a single vehicle collision.

“The fire service was also called because it was reported that the driver was trapped.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries were said to be not life-changing or life-threatening.”

The road was closed in both directions while emergency services were on the scene and reopened shortly before 9am.
