Coffee and cakes lined up at multiple fundraising events for cancer charity
Lots of coffee mornings are being organised next week across the Melton Mowbray area for the annual fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This is a great cause which you can support while enjoying a coffee and a cake in local businesses, churches, offices, schools, private houses and sports clubs.

This official date is Friday September 25, but organisers are encouraged to hold a coffee morning any time and in any place.
The Odd Clock Cafe, on Sherrard Street, is hosting theirs on Tuesday September 22 and they say: “Come along and enjoy a lovely morning with good company, plenty of delicious homemade cakes and, of course, a cuppa!”
Global Harmony is hosting one at the Sandy Lane Methodist Church in the town on Friday September 25, from 10am to noon.
On the same day, Reuben Aldred has organised a coffee morning at the Noel Arms, on Burton Street, from 10 to noon.
Reuben, who is 33, has been treated for cancer and he wanted to support a charity which supports so many people with the disease and their families.
His grandmother, Pam Posnett, said: “He’s been through a lot but he never complains. Reuben can’t wait to host his coffee morning for Macmillan.”
Ferneley’s, at Leethorpe, is hosting a coffee morning on Saturday September 26 at its Dairy Barn Cafe, also from 10am to noon.
These are just a few of the many local events – if you are interested in organising a coffee morning, you can register on the Macmillan Cancer Support website to get your information pack.
