From hashtags to hard floors: Leicester entrepreneur sleeps out to fight youth homelessness

Known for helping businesses grow through Instagram, local entrepreneur Estelle Keeber is stepping away from her laptop and into the cold to raise awareness for youth homelessness. On March 19, 2025, she’ll be swapping her home office for a concrete floor at King Power Stadium, taking part in Sleep Easy 2025, an event organised by YMCA Leicestershire to support young people facing homelessness.

For Estelle, this isn’t just another fundraiser—it’s part of her ongoing mission to use her platform for good. From raising £1,000 for domestic violence charity Women’s Aid to participating in the Freeze Your Bits and Bobs Off campaign, she’s no stranger to taking on bold challenges to support those in need.

Social media is a powerful tool, but real change happens when we step up and take action. I’m lucky to work from home and have a warm bed to sleep in—but for so many young people, that’s not the reality. If sleeping outside for one night can raise awareness and funds to change lives, then I’m all in.” – Estelle Keeber

As a social media expert, Estelle is taking this opportunity to amplify awareness online, encouraging others to get involved—whether by joining the event, donating, or simply sharing the message.

“I spend my days helping businesses grow online, but this is about something much bigger than engagement or sales. It’s about showing how we can all use our platforms to create real impact. Whether you have 10 followers or 10,000, we all have a voice—and it’s time to use it.”

Since 2023, Sleep Easy has raised over £45,000 for YMCA Leicestershire, funding essential services such as housing, support programs, and crisis intervention for young people. By joining the challenge, Estelle is part of a growing movement of individuals and businesses standing up against homelessness.

A Unique Sponsorship Opportunity for Local Businesses

To raise even more funds, Estelle is offering four businesses the opportunity to advertise their logo on her Sleep Easy ‘box’ for just £50 sponsorship. Not only will businesses be supporting a vital cause, but they’ll also receive shoutouts across Estelle’s social media platforms, putting them in front of a highly engaged business audience.

“This is a great way for small businesses to get involved. You get visibility, you support a life-changing charity, and you show your customers that you care about making a difference. I’d love to see Leicester’s business community come together for this.”
