Campaign encourages Melton pensioners to try something different and get fit

A wide range of super exciting opportunities to increase older adults activity levels are taking place in Melton next Monday (September 26).

The week called ‘Feel Alive from 65’ is organised by LeicesterShire and Rutland Sport and is promoted by Melton Council.

It will allow people to try something different for only £3 or less in a bid to encourage regular participation in sport or physical activity.

Monday 26

Angling will be held at Lakeview Fisheries, from 10am-12noon, (£2.50), call Asfordby and Melton Society on (01664) 850963. Tai Chi will run at Gloucester House, from 11.30am-12.30pm, (£3).

Tuesday 27

Zumba Gold will run at Burton Lazars Village Hall, from 11.30am-12.30pm, (£3). New Age Kurling will run at Gloucester House, from 11.30am-12.30pm, (free), call (01664) 410253. Angling will be held at Lakeview Fisheries, from 1-3pm, (£2.50). Mature Movers will run at Gloucester House, from 2.15-3.15pm, (£3), call 0116 239 3221. Tennis will be held at Belvoir Vale Lawn Tennis Club, from 7.10-8.10pm, (£3), call 07971 457739.

Wednesday 27

Tennis will be held at Belvoir Vale Lawn Tennis Club, from 9.30-11am, (£3). Senior’s Table Tennis will run at Melton Sports Village, from 10am-12noon, (£1.50). A Health Walk will be held at Long Clawson Village Hall and Recreation Ground, from 10-11.30pm, (free). An Alzheimer’s Memory Walk will be held in Play Close, from 10.30-11.30am, (free).

Thursday 28

Steady Steps will run at The Venue, Phoenix House, from 10-11am, (£2). Angling will be held at Lakeview Fisheries, from 10am-12noon and 1-3pm, (£2.50). A Senior’s Health Walk will be held at Melton Country Park, from 1.30-2.30pm, (free).
