Women led butchery near Melton Mowbray

I am a third-generation female farmer and, at the age of 21, I established an on-farm butchery in November 2021.

The aim was to take greater control of our product, improve margins, secure the future of our farm and connect more directly with customers by selling our own beef rather than relying solely on traditional routes.

Since launching, the business has allowed us to add value to our livestock, strengthen relationships with local customers, and build a more resilient and diversified income stream alongside the core farming operation.

Setting up at a relatively young age, and as a woman in what is still a male-dominated sector, also came with its own challenges—from navigating regulations and investment decisions to building a customer base from scratch.

We offer a home delivery service which covers Leicestershire’s towns & villages allowing customers to purchase & support small local businesses.
