Chidlren take a walk on the wildside at Melton Museum

The animal kingdom became the focus of attention for youngsters at Melton's Carnegie Museum last week.

The event was part of a host of exciting activities at the museum organised to keep children entertained during the school summer holidays.

Each week a new theme with things to make and trails around the gallery is thought of to keep youngsters on their toes.

Jungle Mayhem week included sculpting animals out of clay, making masks and a fascinating explorers trail around the museum.

Most Popular

    This week’s theme (August 9 to 13) is Knights of the Round Table, where children can make swords, sheilds and even helmets.

    From (August 16 to 20) the theme is Birds of Prey, where children can make bird gliders and masks. There will also be a trail around the gallery.

    From (August 23 to 27) the theme is Foody Fun. This entails making and decorating fridge magents and a trail around the museum.

    Children must be accompanied by an adult and some charges may apply.
