Russian State Ballet UK tour cancelled by promoters
Promoters Raymond Gubbay said the decision followed ‘shocking circumstances unfolding in the Ukraine.”
Selladoor, which operates the theatre in Broadway, had announced the venue would no longer be presenting either of the Russian State Ballet of Siberia performances – of Cinderella and Swan Lake – scheduled for March 22 and 23.The ballet company was to be accompanied by The Russian State Ballet Orchestra.
Ticket holders for these performances will automatically receive a full refund, and do not need to contact the theatre.
In a statement promoters Raymond Gubbay said: "In view of the current shocking circumstances unfolding in the Ukraine, the remaining performances by the Russian State Ballet of Siberia of their 2021/22 tour will not be taking place."We have been liaising with both government and venues throughout the weekend as to our shared sentiment and all ticket holders shall be contacted as soon as possible by their point of purchase."We hope for a swift return to peace and stability in the region."
