Melton's BIG Weekend of comedy rolls into town for second year running

For the second year running several different venues across Melton are preparing to host some of the biggest names in comedy in support of Dave's Leicester Comedy Fesival which started yesterday (February 8-26).

Melton’s BIG Weekend starts on Thursday (February 16-18), and tickets for some of the venues funny gigs are still available.

There are tickets left still for Just Another Tick In A Box? (Friday,17), Pick of the Fest (Saturday,18) and Laughing With Loros (Saturday,25), all scheduled at Melton Theatre - box office - www.meltontheatre.co.uk

Just Another Tick In A Box? is a discussion show as part of Beyond A Joke and aims to inspire people to get into the world of comedy. The show starts at 12noon and tickets are £5 advance or pay what you want.

Pick of the Fest will feature comedians Jarred Christmas and Mitch Benn. The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £14 plus £1 booking fee.

Laughing With Loros will be headlined by Mark Watson and feature comedians Ellie Taylor and Archie Maddocks. The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £15 plus a £1 booking fee.

The evening will be a mixed bill of comedy compered by home grown talent Jon Pearson. Lou Conran will open the show at 8pm and tickets are £5 advance or pay what you want.

Other comedians who are coming to town but who’s shows are already sold out include Jon Richardson at Melton Theatre (Thursday,16), Adam Hess at 54 A King Street Coffee Shop (Friday,17) and Carly Smallman at More Coffee Co (Friday,17).

The entertainment is once again being sponsored by the Melton BID.

BID manager Shelagh Core said: “We’re excited to be part of Leicester Comedy Festival 2017. It will be a great opportunity to showcase the town and its great venues, with a great line up of comedy entertainment over the weekend.”
