At her gig she will bring a whole new meaning to the term ‘rock-chick’. Playing the guitar she will have everyone singing along.

Further afield Velocity are to perform in Leicester at The Musician. They will be on stage on Friday for the first night of the Original Band Showcase 2016.

Now in its 12th year, a large section of this year’s acts will feature in the best of this year’s local festivals including Simon Says, Western Park and Riverside.

On Saturday, Rainer will headline at the Noels Arms. The four piece band boasts three alternating male/female lead vocals with all the harmonies in between.

The Genny B is set to host Indigo on Saturday. They are a three piece band who are not be missed. They are (not to be confused with Indigo Black!)

Saturday also sees guitar led covers band ‘Loaded Revolver’ play at The Grapes. They will perform indie songs ranging from the 70s to the present day. Their set includes hits from the likes of The Fratellis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Sex Pistols and Guns N’ Roses.

A charity 80s, 90s and 00s dance event in aid of Cancer Research UK has been organised on Saturday at Roadhouse. All tickets are sold out but the option to pay on the door is still available.

Sunday sees Acou-Sticky Fingers perform at the Noels Arms. Treat your mum to Melton’s answer to Mick Jagger as well as a special afternoon tea cheese board.

The Wayfarers round off a great weekend of music at The Crown. This energetic youth band will bring their unique blend of noise and melody to the venue.

They have been brought up on a musical diet of Nirvana, The Buzzcocks, The Strokes, The Smiths, The Doors, The Who, Oasis and a host of other acts generally considered great.
