Melton Gig Guide: March 11 to 13 - Melton Times

For those fortunate to have seen David Wyatt’s Moonlights you’ll know why this Friday is a very welcome return. Classic tunes and golden harmonies will delight visitors.

On Saturday the Melstrum Ukulele Orchestra will perform at Burton Lazars Village Hall.

The gig has been organised to raise funds for St James’ Church - Burton Lazars Development Fund. Guests should bring own refreshments and glasses.

The Noels Arms hosts Slither on Saturday. Fan Jayde says “Slither are a culmination of great talent from various bands. They rock the house down wherever they play!”

Saturday also sees XMA return to perform at the Genny B.

The punk band aim to deliver the best anthems from the last four decades. Their set will include one or two of their own songs as well.

Concluding Saturday will be Oak at The Grapes. Oak are a Nottingham bases classic rock covers band.

They play hits from the big three including Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Led zeppelin. They also play songs from lesser known bands such as Robin Trower and Atomic Rooster.

Sunday sees Ruff N Ready headline at the Noels Arms. The Irish folk band will play a mixture of Irish, English and American folk songs with a goal to entertain.

Sounds Rite are set to take over The Crown to round off the weekend on Sunday.

Brothers John and Ronnie Horton first performed together back in 1972 in a band called Triax. Now they play around Melton, performing popular rock and pop ballads from the last five decades.
