From felt making to glass fusion, the Old Brickyard Tea Garden in Scalford is hosting a whole series of summer art classes and workshops, starting with batik and silk painting on Thursday, August 4.

Owner Anna Stasinska said: “Summer is here at last, just in time for the school hols. If you’re ever wanted to have a go at a craft but just don’t have the time and can’t afford to buy all the materials, now is the time to give yourself time to relax and enjoy a new skill.

“Kids can also get involved in our mini open art competition. They don’t have to be artists and there is no age limit.

“Paintings, drawings and sewing pieces are all accepted. As long as the art is no bigger than a postcard, they can create anything they like with a herbal or floral feel. Deadline is August 8.”
