Big selection of bands to play at Knipfest 2016

Knipfest 2016 will be taking place at Belvoir Cricket Club at Knipton on Saturday, June 25, from 4pm to midnight.

Money raised at this year’s festival will be donated to Cancer Research UK, St Barnabas Hospice in Grantham and the Dove Cottage Day Hospice in Stathern.

One of the organisers Phil Noon said: “As well as a great line up of artists performing live on stage there will be various food stalls including a hog roast, fresh pizza, vegan food and a noodle bar.

“There is also a real ale bar and free car parking for all ticket holders. Knipfest always has a welcoming atmosphere in a tranquil setting, with Belvoir Castle as a back drop.”

Eighteen year old Katie Lyle, whose performances are a mixture of acoustic and electric guitar to accompany her vocals, will start the programme of live music.

The 4 Tarrantinos are next on the bill. They are well known for playing hits from the cult movies Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, True Romance, Dusk Til Dawn and also new Tarantino films Deathproof and Inglorious Basterds.

They will be followed five piece Grantham band Milk No Sugar, who will play a mix of feel-good classic covers and original songs.

Keeping up the momentum, AJ and the Collective are a group of local musicians who will perform a diverse range of rap, hip hop and even a touch of Johnny Cash.

Up next will be Monochrome Empire, an alternative rock ban who perform their own material. They’ve had play time on BBC, Introducing Nottingham, giged at Glastonbudget and headlined LOV Festival.

The Manipulators then bring classic covers to the show spanning about six decades and as many genres, from straight-up rock n’ roll to funk, ska, R ‘n’B, and electronic.

Crazy Ape, long time Knipfest stalwarts and veterans of the UK circuit, provide more entertainment in the shape of outrageous suits and infectious melodies. Before, Ultra 90s provide a climax to the show by taking you back to the dance era of the 1990s.

Ultra 90s will utilise live soulful male and female vocals, keyboards and their own studio recorded backing tracks, to produce the unforgettable full electronic sound of the era.
