Winter League underway for Melton Tennis Club juniors
Melton Mowbray Tennis Club Junior teams got their winter league campaign underway recently but were on the wrong end of some defeats due mainly to the teams being placed in much higher divisions in error.
A bright spot was the 14&Under Boys team when they travelled to Loughborough LTC 1 for their Div.1 fixture and returned with the points following a 2-1 win.
Number one Harrison Culpan put Melton ahead with a confident 4-1 4-0 score but Isaac Wotton went down in his singles to leave it hanging on the doubles. Melton lads took the first set 4-3 but lost the second set 3-4 before keeping their nerve to notch a 10-8 match tie break.
