Syston, who were looking for the win against Melton Indoor bowls Club A, tried hard to gain control, but trailed by five shots after nine ends.

Both teams fought hard and by the 15th end the difference remained at five shots to Melton A.

And the hosts kept the pressure on to extend their lead over the final ends and run out 74-57 winners.
