Super Syston RFC stun National League leaders Hinckley

Syston produced their best result of the season on Saturday as they inflicted the first defeat of the season on runaway leaders Hinckley.

Adam Turner and Alex Rennie both crossed for the home side with James Morgan adding two penalties and a conversion, while Hinckley were restricted to tries from Rob Bryant and Sam Greasley and a Mark Lord conversion.

The victory, Syston’s ninth of the season, left them well-placed in fifth position in National League Three (Midlands).

Hinckley’s lead was cut to 13 points from Scunthorpe who have a game in hand.
