Stathern Duathlon aiming to break new ground
The event is a key fundraiser for Stathern Primary School and has so far raised more than £7,000 for sporting activity, equipment and coaching for children at the school and in the village.
The duathlon attracted 40 entrants in its first year and by last year the field had grown more than threefold with 130 competitors turning out.

Hide AdEntrants must complete two 5km runs either side of an 18km bike ride.
Participants face a steep climb up Mill Hill on their bikes before riding across the top to Belvoir Castle, while the run takes in a flat course from Stathern to the canal and back.
Participants can rehydrate by sampling beer from sponsors Brewsters Brewery or with cordial donated by Belvoir Fruit Farms and there is also a cake stop at the finish.
Registration, bag drop and toilets will be at the War Memorial Hall, opposite The Plough pub, and parking is available down Blacksmith Lane.
