Sherard achieve Melton and Belvoir School Sport double

Melton Sports Village played host to the first Melton and Belvoir School Games Sportsability competition last week.

A total of six teams, made up of Key Stage 2 primary school pupils from Sherard, The Grove, Old Dalby, Great Dalby, Asfordby Hill and Birch Wood, competed over a range of sports, including boccia, new age kurling, sitting volleyball, goal ball and a bean bag challenge.

Every team won at least one of their events, but Sherard T1 were victorious overall after scoring the most points across all of the different events.

They will now go on to represent Melton and Belvoir in the level three competition.

Their schoolmates Sherard T2, meanwhile, won the Spirit of the Games award for showing great determination throughout.

Organisers Melton and Belvoir School Sport congratulated everyone who took part for their sportsmanship, and thanked Brooksby Melton College sport students who helped run the event.
