Roy leads the way as Lakeview Vets return to angling action

With this number of anglers, three lakes were required and most had a good days fishing, although the change in weather kept the weights down.

River peg six produced the best weight and Roy Toulson was into fish right from the very start.

Fishing banded pellet across to the deep water he had some good sized carp and ended with a winning weight of 89lbs.

Nick West (peg one) did not think he was in contention but he came second with 76lbs, giving him a section win.

Third on the lake was Tony Maddock with 69lbs.

On Stream, Roger Marlow was well ahead of the rest fishing pellet he had a lake win with 71lbs.

The other section was won by Rob Shooter from peg three with 50lbs, and third on the lake was Brian Holmes with 45lbs form peg 20.

Serpent was also used and Pete Sisson, fishing paste on peg 10, was the lake winner with 65lbs.

Opposite on peg 21, Tom Hamilton won the other section with 50lbs.

The second match saw hardy anglers brave the elements and everyone caught although the weights were low.

Nick West was the overall winner from Marina peg 15, where he had to search out the carp and F1s with his banded pellet method, finishing with 38lbs for top spot overall.

On peg 12 Steve Cuthbert just managed a section win, beating the rest by just a pound with 26lbs his final weight.

On Reef Steve Beckhurst was the lake winner from peg 11, where he caught a number of small F1’s along with some silvers for 35lbs.

On the opposite bank, anglers really struggled and it was Roy Toulson on peg 17 that took the section with just 15lbs.
