The shop, in King Street, will be hosting one of its popular ‘Shop Run Beer’ evenings on Friday which is open to all runners in the borough.

There will be a prize draw to win a pair of Ron Hill running sunglasses – minimum £1 donation to Sport Relief – before a four-and-a-half-mile chatty run with members of Stilton Striders at 7pm.

The invitation extends to a ‘recovery’ drink afterwards at BeerHeadz to round off the evening.

Then, on Saturday, Melton Sports will be teaming up with podiatrists from InStep Melton to offer free gait analysis in the shop between 11am and 2pm.

Its FootBalance device checks your arch, leg axis and body alignment to make sure your feet are properly supported whatever your sport.

The event is free – no appointments necessary, just pop in – but donations will be invited for Sport Relief and there will be a cake sale, too.
