Marathon man Karl wins nailbiting snooker final
The best-of-seven-frame match against Rob Jack lasted nearly four hours - Karl coming back from 2-0 down to win 4-3.
Karl beat Steve Longley 2-1 and Andrew Swann 3-1 to get to the final while Rob knocked out Ben Jackson 2-0 and Craig Heaney 3-0.

Hide AdOwner Ben Jackson, who started the popular fortnightly handicapped knockout competitions after lockdown was lifted, said there had been long matches in all the rounds this week.
“You never know how long frames will take,” he said.
“The last competition was over in five hours whereas this one was our longest - a marathon lasting nearly 12 hours.“
There were cash prizes for first and second places as well as for the highest break, which was won by Rob Jack.
A rolling bonus for the first 50-plus break has also been introduced.

Hide AdThe bonus pot started at £20 but no one reached the target this week, so it will increase by £5 every contest until it’s won.
The next competition is on Saturday, September 12, starting at 10am and is open to non-members as well as members.
Entry costs £5.
