Golf club to host a Family Day

Stoke Rochford Golf Club are holding a free showcase event for families as it bids to welcome new faces to the picturesque parkland course.

The Family Day, open to all ages and abilities, runs from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday as the club looks to attract more juniors and ladies into the fold.

It will feature putting, chipping, driving with club professional James Bennett and his assistant Matt Owen, followed by a fun three-hole Texas scramble competition open to groups of families and friends.

Refreshments will be provided.

Event organiser Glynn Staines said: “This is a great opportunity to try out golf if you have never played before, or want to return to the game.

“We particularly welcome juniors and ladies who may have been put off of golf by its past image. This will be fun, and come dressed casually to enjoy yourselves.”

Continuing the inclusive theme, Stoke Rochford will host a second Junior Fun Day of the summer on the following Thursday from 10am to 4pm.

It follows a popular opening event last month which included putting, team and individual competitions and tuition.
