Although most international sport has been postponed during 2020, the sport of skeleton has been able to continue, and last weekend Latvia hosted the first round of the series, with GB sending a team of six sliders.

With only nine international races under her belt, Coltman made an impressive step up onto the big stage.

She finished 14th, 25 hundredths of a second behind her team mate, 2016 Youth Olympic Champion Ashleigh Pittaway.

The event was won by Janine Flock from Austria and Coltman’s teammate and Olympic bronze medalist Laura Deas finished in sixth place.

Amelia will continue her World Cup season in Igls, Austria, in two separate events taking place on December 11 and 18.

In 2019, in her first season of racing, Amelia competed on the Europa Cup circuit and never finished outside of the top five.

She won two golds, a silver and two bronze medals as she went on to win the overall title, being the first British women to do so at the first time of asking.

This earnt her selection on to the next tier up, the Intercontinental Cup. In February she flew out to PyeongChang and finished ninth on the former Olympic track.
