Chris has worked as sports editor of the Melton Times, in Leicestershire, for 14-and-a-half years, and in recent years also worked on sister titles the Louth Leader, Market Rasen Mail and Sleaford Standard.

Chris, who was twice named Weekly Sports Journalist of the Year at the UK Regional Press Awards, is now set to explore options as a freelance journalist.

“I’m looking forward to spending some more time with my family before taking on freelance work when sport and daily life gets back to normal,” he said.

“I’d like to thank all of the contributors, sports clubs and contacts I’ve worked with over the last 14 years for making it such a vibrant and enjoyable job.

“I’m still going to live in the borough and look forward to hearing from you, and will definitely keep in touch with our clubs and sportspeople.”
