Melton Mowbray Tennis Club ladies start winter with wins

Melton Mowbray Tennis Club's ladies' winter League teams got off to a winning start following wins for both of their first and second teams.

The ladies’ first team travelled to Oadby Granville for a Division One match and returned with the points following an 8-0 win.

Corinne Blythe and Sarah Diver teamed up at number one pairing and they were in fine form, losing just four games in their four set wins.

At second pairing, Sumitra Fox and Carol Gilchrist also collected a well-earned maximum after three of their sets were won 7-5.

* The ladies’ second team travelled to Newtown Linford for their Division Seven match and returned with the points following a 6-2 win.

Ellie Jenkins and Jess Gadsby proved the cornerstone of the win with a maximum four sets, with second pairing Laura Hayward and Jo Heggs weighing in with two wins to seal the victory.
