Mixed firsts are edging closer to league title
Skipper Charlie Griffin and partner James Rowe led from the front by winning a maximum three wins and losing just 10 games throughout, winning 9-1, 9-5 and 9-4.
New club coach Ryan Parmar teamed up with Corinne Blythe and they weighed in with another maximum and the pair were in outstanding form with just the loss of four games.

With just one match remaining, at home to Charnwood I, Melton are looking strong favourites to take the title which they won in the club’s first year in 2017.
The mixed second team kept up their challenge for honours in Division 3B when they travelled to Leicestershire A for a tricky fixture but returned with the points following a tense 5-4 win.
Captain Justin Horobin and partner Sarah Driver weighed in with two wins along with second pairing Etienne Ellis and Ellie Jenkins.

Hide AdThird pairing of Tom Ellis and Laura Hayward lost out in two very tight rubbers by a 9-7 and 9-8 scores but notched the final rubber by a 9-6 score line to seal victory for Mowbray.
This win keeps the team with their noses just in front of the favourites Hinckley 1 and leaves the title to be decided at Melton in a winner-takes-all final match.
The club’s third mixed team rounded off their season in Division 5A with a resounding 7-2 win over visitors Medbourne to leave them in a final third position behind Leicestershire & Lutterworth.
Teenager Ollie Aley teamed up with Carol Gilchrist at number one pairing and the couple responded well by collecting three fine wins.

Another teenager, Tom Dryell, teamed up with Jill Woods to collect a single win to end the season on a high note.
