Melton Town's inconsistent form goes on after defeat to Gresley Rovers

A 3-0 defeat at home to Gresley Rovers on Saturday has left inconsistent Melton Town looking over their shoulders at the UCL Premier North relegation battle.
The first 15 minutes saw Melton camped in their own half as Gresley dominated possession.
But their dominance only produced the one chance when Jarvis had an effort from the edge of the area which went two feet over the bar.
It was the 18th minute before Melton had their first attempt on goal, which came from a Fura free kick on the edge of the D which was deflected just wide of the post.
Then halfway through the first half a Gresley corner saw Calver wrestle with Moore to clear the ball and the referee award a penalty.
Kavanagh dispatched the spot kick, sending Harrison the wrong way.
Two minutes later Gresley should have doubled their lead when a diagonal ball found Moore unmarked in the box, but his shot was saved by the feet of the Melton keeper.
Just before half-time a ball into Moore was chested down to Acott, whose half volley was well saved.
Then deep into first half stoppage time Melton had the chance to equalise when Wakley received the ball on the edge of the area before picking out a pass to Munakandafa, who was clear on goal, but his low shot hit the foot of the upright.
The first chance of the second half fell to Melton when a Fura corner was only cleared as far as Danso, who fired in a powerful effort which needed a good save from Catlow.
Gresley began to dominate the game and a long ball upfield had Chapman and Moore tussling for the ball with the Gresley striker going clear on goal, but he placed the ball the wrong side of the post.
However, on the hour Gresley doubled their lead when Moore went on a run along the wing before picking out Mansfield unmarked on the edge of the six yard box and his header hit the far post and went in.
In the 66th minute the game was put to bed when a quick throw-in to Acott saw him dummy past Chapman then go past two more defenders before hitting the back of the net.
With five minutes remaining a long ball over the top found Kalis going clear, only for a last ditch tackle from Jarvis to prevent a certain goal.
This was a well deserved win for Gresley who just wanted it more on the day.
Melton were disjointed and under-performed all over the pitch.
The Reds next welcome Eastwood to The Signright Park on Saturday looking to quickly edge away from the relegation battle.
