Melton RFC Colts hold out as Vipers bite back
The visitors started strongly, finally breaking Melton’s stubborn defence for a converted try after several phases of play deep in the home side’s 22.
Darlington and Webster led the forwards through a commanding passage of play resulting in a brace of tries for Cank and an excellent solo effort from Johnson to give Melton a 17-10 lead going into half-time.

Hide AdMelton’s forwards applied further pressure in the second half, exposing gaps in the visitors’ defence for the backs to exploit. Brooks took full advantage with a well-worked try.
But Vipers were far from finished and showed excellent spirit and high levels of fitness to run in a brace of tries and leave Melton hanging on towards the end for a well-deserved 24-22 win.
