Melton Mowbray Tennis Club have been gearing themselves up for the 2021 summer season.

The senior teams will be in action over the next few weeks with two men’s, two ladies’, three mixed, one ladies’ vets and one men’s vets plus two men’s National Club League teams ready for fixtures.

The juniors will compete in a series of in-house competitions run by head coach Di Burdett, rather than compete in the National Club Junior League this season.

Chairman Justin Horobin and vice-chairman Peter Lovegrove.

Chairman Justin Horobin is delighted with the enthusiasm that is still running through the club - which has recently unveiled its brand new playing surface - since the easing of lockdown.

“Although the club is still in its infancy, we have made an Incredible transformation to an unloved, run down set of courts into a bright, bustling, vibrant tennis club that welcomes members and visitors alike,” he said.

“We are still evolving and have several projects to complete but thanks to the continued support of members, well wishers and sponsors our intention is to continue to upgrade the facilities.”

Junior members have been excited to get back on the club’s new courts and head coach Di Burdett has been inundated with applications and enquiries about junior and senior coaching sessions.
