Melton IBC fightback stuns Stamford

Melton and District Indoor Bowls Club travelled to Stamford on Saturday for a friendly fixture which proved an interesting fixture.

Stamford forged into a 22-shot lead after five ends, but Melton chipped away at the advantage, closing the gap to 18 shots by the 15th end.

The visitors continued to push hard and after 19 ends had levelled the aggregate score at 104 shots each.

Melton kept up the pressure on the final two ends, picking up 10 shots to Stamford’s nine, with one rink picking up the decisive shot on the last end to clinch victory in a very enjoyable match.
