Melton Golf Club: Skipper Gerry off to winning start

After a damp misty start, the sun broke through and conditions improved, although the course played long.

A closely-fought match played as a fourball betterball matchplay finished with Melton coming out winners by five matches to three, giving new captain Gerry Stephens a winning start.

Winning pairs were Tom Eadon and Owen Cook (5 and 4), Haydn Snow and Richard Haynes (6 and 4), Richard Grieve and Julian Kisiel (8 and 6), Dave Wells and Don Benzie (6 and 4), and Jerzy Schmidt with Dave Moss (5 and 4).
