Melton bowls league in doubt after teams withdraw
The Melton Bowls Triples League has called a special meeting next month after only four teams started the season.
Syston Bowls Club dropped out of the league last season and at short notice Market Overton had to withdraw this year because of a lack of interest within the club.
Their departures have left only four participating clubs which entails three games per club only. As a result a special meeting will be held on Thursday, September 22 to discuss the league’s future.
League results to date: Oakham 8-0 Belvoir Vale; Melton Town 2-6 Oakham; Belvoir Vale 2-6 Holwell Sports.
