Melton bowlers reach last 16 at national indoor finals

A trio of Melton Indoor Bowls Club ladies competed on the national arena last week as they took part in the final stages of the National Over 50 Two Bowl Triples.

Sue Lemon, Thelma Stubbs and Eva Radford reached the last 16 at Nottingham after winning the Leicestershire knockout rounds and then beating Nottinghamshire champions in a play-off.

They faced Kent winners White Oak in the round of 16 on Monday, but lost out 23-12.

* Melton and District IBC this week play host to the County Bowling Finals.

The week-long championships begin today (Thursday) and run until the following Thursday.
