Melton bowlers make step up to top table
There were some notable success stories as Melton Indoor Bowls Club held its summer gala and presentation evening.
Among the winners were several past novice winners, a legacy of the club’s Mission 650 project to bring a host of new bowlers into the club and develop their skills.
Gala secretary Eva Radford organised a country and western-themed night culminating in competition secretary Mick Rawle’s report and the presentation of summer competition prizes by club president Pat Wright.
Last year’s Novice Ladies’ Pairs winners Liz Dyer and Rose Barton won the main competition this summer, while another novice from last April, Pauline Wells was runner-up in the Summer Ladies’ Singles.
The winners of the upcoming winter competitions, meanwhile, will go through to the County Finals at Charnwood IBC from April 1 to 14 next year.
