Louth golfers miss out on Morocco grand final by single point

A pair of amateur golfers from Mareham-Le-Fen came within a point of qualifying for a grand final in Morocco.

Duncan MacDonald and Colin Trestrail, both members of Louth Golf Club, finished in a tie for fourth place at the UK regional northern pairs final of the 2016 Morocco Matchplay, powered by HowDidiDo.

Duncan (45), a five-handicapper, and three-handicapper Colin (58) scored 41 points at the Slaley Hall course, in Northumberland to miss out on an all-expenses-paid trip to February’s grand final in Marrakech by just one point.
