Barrie Hubbard and Alan Newton took the honours on Christmas Eve when they won a stableford betterball contest.

They finished on 45 points, taking first place on countback from runners-up Alan Hodgkinson and Brian Cole.

Lee Wilson and Doug Woolley finished the day in third with 42 points while Barrie Hubbard, Tony South, David Stroud and David Reeves all bagged a gross two on a hole.

lA New Year's Eve stableford betterball was won by John Shelton and Brian Geeson on 46 points. Tim Litt and Steve Malyon came home second on countback with 44 points from third-placed John Waldron and David Reeves.

Five players managed a gross two, Brian Geeson, Matt Tocher, David Gent, Alan Newton and Mark Goodwin.

lMelton GC's nine-hole Hangover Am-Am was played in a two to count from three stableford format on New Year's Day.

The team of Nigel Charles, Chris Leader and Matt Hatton won with 43 points, two ahead of runners-up Greg and Doug Woolley and Ray Catton.
