Hamilton Tennis Club players took to the courts for the first time in almost three months as lockdown restrictions were eased on Monday.

The six courts at the Melton club saw plenty of activity throughout the first day although the clubhouse remains closed until April 12 at the earliest.

Chairman Gordon Hughes welcomed the re-opening of the facilities for club members and the general public, who can use some of the courts on a pay-to-play basis.

He said: “Tennis can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities and helps improve general fitness and wellbeing.”
