Team wins for Stoke Rochford Ladies and Seniors

Stoke Rochford Ladies have been busy on the golf course, with Jackie Witten winning Wednesday’s Stableford.

She claimed first place with 39 points, pipping second-place Linda Barclay (37 points) and Sus Taylor (36 points), who was third.

Twelve ladies played for the Bursnall Cup.

Results: 1 Leven Li 35 pts, 2 Sheila Dugmore 35 pts, 3 Lynn Ewart 34 pts.

A recent friendly away at Sleaford saw the ladies win 3-1.

Nineteen ladies took part in the Silver Rose/Marlow Midway and the Leverett Cup.

Silver Rose Medal: 1 Penny Hellam nett 73, 2 Lara Manton nett 74, 3 Sheila Dugmore nett 74.

Marlow Midway Medal: 1 Jackie Witten nett 71, 2 Carol Hamilton nett 74, 3 Rachel Jones nett 74.

Lynn Ewart won the Leverett Cup with 28 points.

The Stoke Rochford Seniors played their pairs knockout qualifier as a better ball stableford.

A total of 26 pairs competed with the top eight going through to the quarter-final knockout phase.

Qualifiers: 1 Brian White and Jim Price (45 points), 2 Brian Ayto and Martin Billson (43 points), 3 Phil Hewes and Glyn Staines (42 points), 4 Alan Church and Keith Dugmore (42 points), 5 Greg Ewart and Mick Rance (41 points), 6 Eddie Plant and Alan Dolby (41 points), 7 Jim Davidson and Ernie Armstrong (40 points), 8 Roger Green and Alex Whitelaw (39 points C/B).

Eighteen months since their last match, the Seniors’ season got off to a flying start playing against Sleaford Seniors at home. Mike Thornton’s opening match as Seniors Captain, saw him win 6&5 with Roger Green.
