Stoke Rochford Ladies get golf in before lockdown

Once again the Ladies of Stoke Rochford Golf Club have been playing a great deal of golf during the second half of October.

There have been two more medal competitions and three trophy competitions, mostly played in rain and strong winds.

The first medal was won by Amanda Lewis with a fantastic score of nett 69.

In second was Pauline Haggerty with Nett 73 and in third place went to Sheila Dugmore with a nett 76.

The next competition was a pairs competition for the Gibson Cup Trophy, won by Amanda Lewis and Marian Carvath with a stableford score of 33 points.

Second were Mags McArthur and Pauline Haggerty with a score of 29 points.

The next competition was the 50up Cup, open to all ladies aged over 50.

It was won by Rachel Southwell with a nett score of 70.

In second was Rosanne Mckee with a nett score of 72 and third was Sarah Whitwell with a nett score of 73.

The gross prize was won by Chris Rowley.

The next competition to be played was the Golden Jubilee Trophy, another medal round won by Dorne Werner with a nett score of 77.

Second was Pauline Haggerty with a nett score of 78 and third was Karen Rawson with a nett score of 78.

The best gross score of the day was won by Penny Hallam.

The final medal of the year for the Ladies was played in very heavy rain and strong winds won by Sheila Dugmore with a nett score of 82.

Second was Lynn Ewart with a nett score of 83 and third was Jackie Witten with a nett score of 87.

The winner of the Haggerty Bowl, a match play singles knock out competition was won by Pamela Watson and the President’s Putter, which is an aggregate of various competitions played throughout the year.

Joint winners were Elaine Kirby and Sheila Dugmore.

October was a busy month for the Ladies due to the Covid restrictions earlier in the year.
