High scores at golf club Pro’s Day

More than 150 players took part in Tony Westwood’s Pro’s Day at Melton Mowbray Golf Club.

More than 150 players took part in Tony Westwood’s Pro’s Day at Melton Mowbray Golf Club.

The competition was a two ball better ball stableford with Men’s, Ladies’ and Mixed pair prizes on offer.

There were also nearest the pin contests.

Some extremely high scores were recorded as players took advantage of long running balls on the fairway and receptive greens.

Results: Men’s Pairs - 1 Gerry Stephens and Glenn Price 46 points (24 back nine), 2 Phil Green and Harvey Green 46 points (23 back nine), 3 Mick Wilson and Dougie Bryce 44 points, 4 Bill Hurrell and Will Hurrell 43 points; Mixed Pairs - 1 James and Nancy Denny 40 points; Ladies’ Pairs - 1 Margaret Smale and Sally Hudson 40 points; Nearest the Pin - 5th Harvey Green, 7th Mick Wilson, 14th Margaret Smale, 16th John Burgess; Twos sweep shares - Richard South, Jack Griffin, Sam Pollard, Tony Robinson, Mick Curtis, Neil Farish, John Burgess, Gerry Stephens.
