The Lady Captain, Jackie Fisher, had organised a fun competition and in honour of the Glorious Twelfth, not only was the longest drive on this hole, but two sneaky forfeit bunkers as well.

The fairways were running long, but the greens were in superb condition and good putting was rewarded on this smooth surface.

The winners were grateful to their ghost player who dovetailed well on most holes where two scores from four were to count - except on the first and 18th where all four scores were needed.

In first were Julia Brown, Karen Middleton, Bettyne Norton and Janet Bentley with 88 points, ahead of runners-up Joan Allen, Pat Barnes, Maureen McCall and Glynis Breward (84 points) and Sally Hudson, Chris Cook, Sue Stimson and ‘Drina Terzza (80 points) in third.

Longest drive on the 12th was Dee Hughes and closest the pin on the 14th was Chris Cook.
