Gillett's title quest floored '¨by world champion
The Melton Indoor Bowls Club member was drawn to play world number one Nick Brett in round two of the World Singles Championships last Thursday.
Brett controlled much of the first set, winning it 9-4, but world number 15 Gillett fought back in the second and held Brett to 5-5 after seven ends.

Hide AdBut Brett, who would go on to lift the title for the first time, produced some superb shots to take the set 8-5 and the match.
Gillett, known as the Razor, will soon turn his attentions to reaching the finals of the English National Indoor Championships, at Melton, in April.
The 45-year-old is two matches away from the showpiece event after defeating clubmate and long-time pairs partner Chris Rodgers in the quarter-finals. He next plays Leicester bowler Stephen Lakin in the area semi-finals.
