Tom Manship is looking for the 'right reaction' as Melton Town host Saffron Dynamo tonight.

The contest - Town's final match for four weeks due to lockdown - will pit third against sixth in the United Counties League Premier Division.

And Manship wants his side to bounce back from Saturday's agonising 3-2 FA Vase defeat at UCL Premier side Shepshed Dynamo.

"It's important we have the right reaction. We can't feel sorry for ourselves," said Manship, whose side sit three points behind second-place St Andrews and four off leaders Long Buckby.

"We need the positive mindset and do what we can to get the positive result.

"It's a big test. St Andrews are putting teams to the sword and they held out for long periods on Saturday (before losing 2-1).

"They beat Aylestone Park, who came to our place and beat us. We need to replicate the performance of the first half on Saturday."

Melton stunned Shepshed by taking an early 2-0 lead before the hosts fought back and snatched a late winner, which Manship described as a 'sucker punch'.

"I'm really proud of the lads," the manager added.

"For the players and their manager to come to us afterwards and use the words like 'you guys are class' and 'I can't believe what you've done in two-and-a-half years' is pleasing.

"That's not just one or two either. To get those compliments is nice but not to get the result isn't."

Kick of at Melton Sports Village tonight will be at 7.45pm.

Holwell Sports were due to host Bourne Town this evening, but the contest has been postponed.

A club statement issued on Monday read: "After guidance from the UCL, we have made the decision to call off tomorrow evening's home fixture against Bourne.

"This decision has been made as we currently have two members of the club awaiting results of Covid-19 tests.

"Holwell Sports would like to put on record that at this moment in time we have no positive tests within the club, however taking precautions to safeguard our club and Bourne was the absolute priority when making this decision.

"Naturally, we will update all relevant parties when we hear more. We would like to thank the UCL for there co-operation in this matter."
