Late Black double helps Melton past Rothley

Melton had to endure a frustrating blank first half before beating Rothley EMN-160330-111524002

The home side chose to go against the gusts in the first half and battled out a goalless stalemate.

Melton struggled to play their accustomed passing football with both teams limited to minimal chances.

There was a much more positive start to the second half from the hosts, but they were still not at their best going forward, while Leon Fray and Kieran Clayton again looked commanding in the heart of Melton’s defence.

The game sprang into life when Melton made a double substitution, bringing on Jake Wain and Adam Bishop who both made an immediate impact.

The substitutes linked up to play in Palfreyman who swivelled in the box and planted a good effort into the left corner to make the breakthrough.

Melton continued to dominate and Aaron Black added two great goals in the last 10 minutes to cap another good individual performance.
