They took on one of Asfordby’s young strikers Rhys Hill in three different challenges to try and beat the footballer.

“It was an idea that I’ve wanted to get off the ground for quite a while,” said the clubs PR Manager Matthew Pond.

“The lockdown halted any such ideas from bearing fruit earlier in the year but with social distancing measures in place we were able to get it done on a beautiful morning on our main pitch.

“I’ve had help from some of the other club volunteers to help it go smoothly, Jaimie opened the kitchen for us, Spence and my wife Leah helped with the camera work and obviously Rhys who came to take the challenge on.’

“Jo & Sparky were the first people I approached for the challenge. Having been a listener to their radio show and podcasts for a number of years I was delighted when they accepted and loved the enthusiasm they brought to it.”

The club also presented Sparky with a personalised shirt for his young son. Despite it being far too big for him right now he will be able to enjoy it in the years to come.
