Asfordby FC juniors take first steps on their football journey
The under 8 teams, both registered in the Leicester District Mutual League, kicked off their second season last week, but have years of experience together.
Cobras manager Leon Elford said: “They are a fantastic group of children, many of whom have come through our Saturday morning academy and have known each other since they were four. They absolutely love the game.

“The long term plan is to bring the teams together when we reach 11-a-side, but the objective this season is for the team to continue having fun and for us coaches to prepare them for the move to seven-a-side next season.
“Ideally we would like a couple more players to join in readiness for next season, and would encourage any football-crazy kids to come down and see us.”
The Asfordby Academy is for boys and girls aged four to 11 of any ability and run in line with FA guidelines.
